It Started As A Side Hustle
It started, like a lot of good things do, as a side hustle. Our founder, Melinda, began making balloon décor for friends' and family's parties and quickly realized she loved it. Inspired by the bold, oversized balloon installs Kim Kardashian was putting up at her biggest celebrations, she set out to bring that same wow factor home to Pittsburgh.
Our very first client was Amazon — and when a company that size was impressed, we knew we had something. We named the business Party on Butler after Butler Street in Lawrenceville, where we opened our first store. For three years we served the neighborhood with balloon installations and party supplies out of a scrappy little warehouse, then grew into our current home: a converted Blawnox firehouse with 8,500 square feet of room to dream up — and pre-build — your celebration.
